Somewhere Between Psychotic and Iconic

Blouse- Uniqlo (similar)
Black and White Floral Skirt- Forever 21
Shoes- Oxfords
Body Chain- Similar
Rings- Vintage

I've been taking a much need break from being in front of camera, just to figure out somethings regarding my career, school and lifestyle. However, I thought it was about time I posted this look I wore about three weeks ago before going to the Brooklyn flea market on Saturday afternoon. If you never knew this about me before, I'll be the first to tell you that I love vintage shopping whether it be at a flea market or from thrift store. Just the idea of purchasing an item that has become exclusive and unique to its buyer is such an awesome concept to me…I'll try to snap a collection of pictures whenever I get go to thrifting again.

I wore a black button up collared blouse that I snatched from Uniqlo (the cotton is to die for soft!), what's strange is that I almost never shop for anything in Uniqlo mainly because it's not quite my aesthetic. However, I went in there with a friend and came out with this blouse. As per usual, I tucked the blouse into a floral mini skirt, for a bit of a preppy attire. Since the black of the blouse was a tad bit flat photographic wise, I chose to wear my favorite body chain for depth and more interest in what could easily be a plain outfit.

Space Between The Crave

One of the rare moments when I suddenly decide to wear lots of colours.

Romper- Necessary Clothing
Boots- UNIF
Necklace- Vintage

Clusters of florals, something new that I've never quite worn before or have ever really been too fond of. This romper was one of those life saving pieces in my closet...on the day I wore this look,  the scorching sun in NY seemed unbearable and because of the sheer, super lightweight qualities of this romper I was able to frolic around without melting to my death.

Sometimes I like to allow myself to wear something out of the blue that I usually wouldn't and surprizingly for this look, I loved how this look came out. I decided to add a touch of turquoise jewelry to compliment the feminine qualities of the romper and opted for chunky boots for a more casual daytime look.

Hideaway

Cute florals on a spring day.

Dress- Forever 21
Vest- Similar or here

I have such a love and hate relationship with wearing florals. At times I think they can get a bit cheesy and look more like a bad wallpaper print and on the other hand, there are times when I think florals are the best thing especially during the Spring season.
I think I surprized myself when I even decided to wear this blue and white floral dress because I really don't consider myself to be the girly type and to wear a dress such as this one but I actually like it. With the right amount of jewelry and a mens inspired tailored black vest, I was able to pull off this look without really compromising my aesthetic. I think the addition of the vest really made this look less "girly" and added a more chic/classy touch.
I shot these looks in my apartment just before I left to go meet up for  lunch with an old friend from Jamaica. I know this post is a little different from my usual head to toe outfit post but it's good to change things up a bit...I hope you liked it, let me know what you think in the comments down below.

Voodoo Florals / GIVEAWAY WINNER ANNOUNCEMENT.

Top- New Look
Sunglasses- Zero UV

It's been a day since I've been back in New York and I'm missing home already. Today is the celebration of Independence day in Jamaica so what better way for me to celebrate on my blog than to post a look I took while visiting the National Heroes Park in Kingston, Jamaica. This crazy print mixture look was something I wore on a day out with my family and as crazy as it seems I love it. I never would have thought I'd like this juxtaposition between a loose fitting girly floral pant and a grunge Egyptian high neck top. I literally just went with how I was feeling and wore what made me happy. I paired this look with cute summer flats and one of my favourite cat-eye shades from Zero UV... overall I'm happy with the way this look turned out but feel free to let me know if you think this is a yay or nay. Look out for more post up coming of me back in NY this week.

CONGRATULATIONS TO MARISSA POON ON WINNING THE QUAY AUSTRALIA SHADES!!! for all those who entered, thank you so much and don't worry! I have a lot more giveaways coming up in the future :)

Flower Bomb

White Floral Dress- Forever 21
Sheer Floral Top- Vintage
Shoes- Coltrane Boots (Karmaloop)
DIY Choker

I'm not quite sure what was going on in my mind when I styled this outfit but all I know is that I wanted to be covered in florals and be girly for the day. I wore this baby doll white floral print dress once before on the blog but I remember styling it a little "soft grunge"/bohemian like (here). This time around I made the dress look a little for free spirit and layered it with another floral print top but I made sure that the top was sheer so that you could see the print of the dress peak through the top.  As you can already probably tell, I love to mix and match prints and I've kind of been doing this type a styling a lot more often. I guess there is something about the summer that brings out all the crazy in me hahaha. I hope your week is going great so far and please remember there is still time to enter my giveway>>>here

Weapon Of Choice

Sheer Floral Top-
Teen Dream Denim Jumper- Nasty Gal
Oversized Acid Wash Denim Jacket- Thrift
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane (Karmaloop)

I swore off from ever wearing any sort of overall ever again because it's not very comfortable to wear to me and it's also this huge trend right now which kind of makes me a litttle sick of seeing them however,  I have to say, the only pair of overall that I haven't sold to the thrift store yet is this really nice denim overall skirt which I absolutely adore! To break up the spaces of the blue of the overall, I added a dark skinny belt at the waist. Also, I decided to take a shot at a "denim on denim" look by wearing my new favourite acid washed jacket, which played as a contrasting shades of denim, complements the shade of the overall...I'm so happy it didnt come out looking like one huge clash of "denim in the circus" hahaha.  I chose to add a bright pop of red print against the shades of blue to lighten up the look a little and to give a more day time casual feel to the whole look.
