Summer Bliss

Summer weekends in Brooklyn seems like perfection in my eyes. The open air, small restaurants and the people makes it all feel worth while

Band Tee- Forever 21
Pants- H&M
Sunglasses- Thrift
Necklace- Vintage from Jamaica

Sorry for the endless scrolling for this post, but deciding which ones to post was extremely hard because a lot of the frames came out so well hence my indecisive personality came kicking in.
This post is filled with all the elements that I love in one of my typically everyday outfits…black and white, band tee, great pair of sunglasses, awesome jewelry and comfy shoes. I realized how much I haven't posted a look wearing a band tee in such a long time (funny enough I wear a band tee at least once a week),  however one weekend I decided to get snapped wearing this perfect Johnny Ramone tee  that I got really cheap at Forever 21 about a year ago.

I know this isn't quite the typically "Summer look" but, sometimes I can't help but wear my dark elements no matter what season it is as long as the material is lightweight and allows me to breathe without sweating like a pig in the heat of the Summer. Lately, I've been wearing a lot more of my vintage jewelry that I've had for years because I realized one day how much I began to neglect them for some of my newer ones…so the necklace I'm wearing is one I got from this really cool vintage store back home in Jamaica about 6 years ago and surprisingly still kept it after all those years! I have no idea why it took me this long to style it here on the blog but I'm glad I finally got to share it because it's such a unique piece and goes pretty well with the overall look. A little pop of colour in my sunglasses was necessary to bring a little life to the overpowering black and white aura of this look.

Bug Life

Dress- Forever 21
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell Scully
Sunglasses- Zero UV

Just giving a quick post for a great casual friday look. The most intriguing part of this dress is pretty much the nicely detailed crochet patterned down the middle of the back. I remember rushing that day to meet up with some friends and I thought the easiest thing to throw on was a casual little black dress because lets face it...they will never get old. Also, I'm really happy that its sunny again here in New York because wearing sunglasses actually make sense now hahaha. HAPPY FRIDAY!

Breathe

Top- Zara
Kimono- Nasty Gal
Cowboy Fringe Vest- Vintage
Shoes- Creepers
Sunglasses- Zero UV

Wore this look when it was really nice and sunny out and what better way to celebrate that than to wear a nice flowy kimono. Black and white combinations are always very classic and adding a bit of print is always a great surprize element and can elevate a simplistic look is no time. For this look, I combined a white texture cropped top from Zara with a high waisted fitted pants for a more modern retro inspired look. By adding the a bohemian inspired kimono and a slight pop of colour in my cowboy vest, I was able to transform the look to give more depth and appeal. Its been awhile since I've shot a look with me wearing my sunglasses but now that its getting a bit more sunny, I'm happy to share more looks incorporating sunglasses. I hope your week is going good so far and thanks for visiting!

Pulsating To The Back Beat

Egyptian Print High Neck Crop Top- New Look
Plaid DIY Muscle Shirt
Corduoroy Pants- Uniqlo
Shoes- UNIF Das Boots (Dolls Kill)
Quay Sunglasses- Nasty Gal

I've always been the type of person to clash to different prints that perhaps weren't meant to be together but, I somehow always find a way to make it work. The outfit in the post is a clear example of my little outfit experimentation. A few weeks ago I came across this Europe based online store called New Look  and I wanted to literally buy everything! They have pieces for women and men varying from all different personal style and the prices are super affordable for someone who is working on a budget, plus they're always having sales. Though I'll be browsing through and shopping there more often as a first try I bought two high neck crop tops, which is something I've been searching for the longest time so when I saw that they carried them with all different styles, I knew that this was going to be my favourite place hahaha. Usually, I'd go for maybe a skater skirt look with this top but, I decided to go with pants and platforms because it was super windy that day and I didn't really want to deal with having a Maryln Monroe moment. Thankfully, I don't think anyone can go wrong with wearing pants and platforms.

The Hero In Me

Super Hero Muscle Tee- Milky Way Clothing (Necessary Clothing)
Striped Overall- No Boundaries
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane (Karmaloop)
Sunglasses- Zero UV
DIY Cloth Cuff Bracelet- From Scraps of Last Post

This is a look I wore while I was pretty much having a picnic at Central Park. It was so sunny and beautiful outside that there was no way I would stay inside my apartment. I wanted to capture that feeling of a throwback camping picture with a little bit of my spin to it. I wore this amazing muscle tee with a graphic super hero comic, I thought it was so clever and a perfect piece to mix and match. So, I went along with pairing it with a vintage striped overall which was actually way too big for me but I kinda just made it work and rolled the hem up because it was way too cool for me not to wear. I love how when I style these overall and muscle tee, that I instantly thought of this very retro sunglasses from none other than Zero UV.  It added a nice element in complimenting the outfit and tying everything together into the perfect Summer / Picnic outfit. I have so much more outfits to share this week so look out for that and thank you for visiting.
