Breathe

Top- Zara
Kimono- Nasty Gal
Cowboy Fringe Vest- Vintage
Shoes- Creepers
Sunglasses- Zero UV

Wore this look when it was really nice and sunny out and what better way to celebrate that than to wear a nice flowy kimono. Black and white combinations are always very classic and adding a bit of print is always a great surprize element and can elevate a simplistic look is no time. For this look, I combined a white texture cropped top from Zara with a high waisted fitted pants for a more modern retro inspired look. By adding the a bohemian inspired kimono and a slight pop of colour in my cowboy vest, I was able to transform the look to give more depth and appeal. Its been awhile since I've shot a look with me wearing my sunglasses but now that its getting a bit more sunny, I'm happy to share more looks incorporating sunglasses. I hope your week is going good so far and thanks for visiting!

On The Edge

Black Forest Print Dress- Motel Rocks
Burnout Velvet Kimono- Forever 21
Faux Leather Jacket- Vintage
Shoe- Mulder Platforms by Jeffrey Campbell (Karmaloop)
Hat- Bebe (similar)

Back to that witchy vibe today on the blog. Let's start off by saying I'm completely obsessed with this Motel Rocks dress in this amazing black forest print. This dress is typically a summer dress because its really short and sleeveless however, I couldn't have cared any less because this dress couldn't have fallen in my hands at better time! I love when I get clothing with prints such as this one because there is so much I could do with it and still be able to make it new and different each time.
I opted for a more mysterious witchy vibe for this look with my favourite woolen fall hat and chokers that never seem to leave my neck. After snapping these photos, I went out to some galleries with a coat on of course and it was just the perfect look for relaxing and having some seriously well needed leisure time. Another thing that I can't stop wearing this fall is my mulder platform boots...I have to stop myself sometimes from even putting them on because I've wear them wayyy too much. If you're looking for the perfect fall platform boots definitely check out these or there is a more high end version by Stella McCartney if you want to check that out here. Well I hope you all enjoyed this post and thanks for visit!

Burnout Velvet

Graphic Tee- Zara
Shorts- Thrift
Burnout Velvet Kimono- Vintage

There's something about burnout velvet that makes me feel warm and fussy inside but I can't seem to quite put my finger on what it specifically. So, if you've been following my blog, from past posts I've shared a lot of combination velvet looks mainly because I'm obsessed with anything velvet so naturally,  I went into this vintage boutique here in Manhattan and instantly fell in love with this lovely black burnout velvet kimono. I feel like a piece such as this is so rare to find and the quality is amazing. This look could have easily turned into an all white look with touches of grey however, I incorporated this kimono into the mix to add texture and slight volume... plus, it was a little chilly. This look is a pretty easy going/casual attire that's great for going pretty much going anywhere except a catholic church..ha. What better way to accessorize than to wear my vintage necklace that I've own for ages now and still manage to have it in good condition after all these years...sadly I have no idea where or how I got it, but it's definitely a great statement piece.

Grey Day

Kimono- H&M
Shoes Archie Oxfords from Deandri

Just a giving a quick update on a look I wore sometime during the week after a long day of classes. The weather was very misty and cloudy at 11:00 am it looked like 5 am, which I thought was very strange....New York weather is so unpredictable and weird. Anyways, I wore the quickest look that I could pull together since I had to wake up early for my classes and the best thing to drag out of my closet during those crunch times is a classic grayscale look. To add a little more light layering to the mix, I wore my fringe kimono that I'm so in love with from H&M and as expected, I could help but play and shimmy with the tasseled fringe all day hahaha. I'm actually getting into wearing more of my other jewelry a lot more lately because I got so caught up in consistently wearing my tattoo choker and any choker as a matter of fact. I love all my chokers and would wear them all the days of my life but as a result of that I've neglected all my other really great jewelry pieces. So, the necklace Im wearing in this post is actually from this vintage jewelry store I use to go to all the time back home in Jamaica where I'd splurge into buying unique jewelry pieces. I just love the way this particular necklae is constructed and the rusted silver makes it vintage perfection!

Fall Wolves

Shorts- Nasty Gal
Kimono-Forever 21
Shoes- Hyatt Boots (Edge Of Urge x Jeffrey Campbell)
Wool Hat- Bebe

Lately, I've been dipping into the fall fashion season...not sure if it's too early for that but when I wore this outfit, it surely felt like fall. For those of you who have been following my blog, you'll notice that I'm a lover of colour, platforms and a compulsive "print mixer". With that been said, I don't believe I've ever done an all black look with the mixture of prints and slight pops of colors, so I thought "why not!?". I wore a black and white sheer blouse that could be both dressed up or down and paired it with the cutest kimono that has these embroidered stitchings along the torso area...I thought it was the cutest thing ever when I saw it in forever 21 so it was basically made a compulsive buy and I can't seem to take it off. To accesorize this whole look, I wanted to keep it a little simple with a more edgy and sophisticated touch so I wore  this amazing wool hat which is actually one of my recent purchases and I don't regret it one bit! Lastly, and these amazinggg pair of oil slick iridescent boots from Edge Of Urge, which I recently recieved this week!!!! they're made in collaboration with Jeffrey Campbell & Edge Of Urge and I literally could not wait to wear them so I knew I had to wear them like the next day of receiving them. I really hope you enjoyed this look and have a great weekend!
