Prior Lost Sorrows

If it could be Summer forever, that would make my life so much better. I think the most I'll miss about the Summer is the fact that I could step outside my apartment bare legged in short shorts and not give a care in the world because I won't have to face the cold wind rushing across my skin.

Vintage rings will forever be an obsession of mine, especially silver ones that overtime the under layer of copper begins to show through, giving a very rusty vibe which I love….it gives a little character to the jewelry in my opinion.

Possibly the most comfortable boots I've own in awhile. These was my best purchase of the Summer as I can't take them off my feet and they'll literally become a uniform to my attire for classes.

Ribbed Cropped Top- Necessary Clothing
Short- Forever 21
Chiffon Top- H&M
Boots- Zara
Draped Necklace- Guess
Rings- Vintage

A lot of my post from now will literally be mostly grey combinations, mainly because I've become completely obsessed with wearing and buying any piece of clothing that's grey. That's possible the main reason I've also slowed down in blogging as my person style is changing drastically and for some reason I'm starting to hate everything in my closet. Maybe it's just a phase but either way, I'm going through a bit of a revamping of closet (late spring cleaning).

For this look I chose to pair a basic ribbed top to be worn with my favourite pair of shorts that I've style several times here on the blog. I wanted to do a subtle mixing of prints, so I wore my airy abstract floral top and styled it as cardigan for a extra layer to give depth to the look. I went a bit heavy on the jewelry since there was such a light aura to the way I paired each piece of clothing. Of course, no look could be complete with a great pair of black boots and my usual messy hair.

Also, I wanted to invite you all to join in on entering a giveaway from one of these three beautifully and rather detailed necklaces shown above. I know for sure I can swear by Michal Golan jewelry because all their pieces are literally perfection! All you have to do to enter is like Michal Golan on Facebook  then click this link>> Michal Golan to enter all your information for a chance to win this amazing prize. The winner will be selected on September 7th 2014 at 11:59 EST and will be notified through your email address provided during your entry. GOODLUCK!

Questioning The Exsistents

I'll always find comfort in wearing black and white…such a great way to put together a classic polished look.

White Cardigan- Similar
Pants- Zara
Amaya Boots- Miista from Solestruck

I shot this look so long ago that I completely forgot about it until now. I'm wearing my favorite white lace crop top with a slightly slouchy fit pants to bring balance to the look. I actually wore this look one day for my internship except, I switched out the shoes for more flat comfy ones since I'd be running around on my feet all day. However, I love the unexpected addition of green boots to this look, as the pop of color brings a little more interest to the beautiful yet simplistic attire of just the black and white.

As you may, or may not know…I'm a fashion designer in the making but I haven't quite showed that side of me that much here on my blog. For the next few weeks and possibly the rest of the year I'll be working on a personal project regarding the designer aspect of my life which sadly means..I'll be cutting down on making daily blogs. Now listen, I'm not quiting! lol "a quitter never wins" but I'm just focusing more on building up my caliber and making that side of me more known that just being "the personal style blogger". I'll definitely be sharing my journey here on the blog with possible videos and I'll still update on the outfits that I wear. So I thank those who have riding with me on this blogging journey thus far and I really can't wait to show more of my designer side to you all. Hope you had a great weekend!

The Place I Call Home

One of the first days I spent back home in Jamaica. My aim was to keep it clean and simplistic.

Shorts- Forever 21
Shoes- Nasty Gal
Necklace- Tilly's

Ahh it feels like forever since my last post. I've been in a bit of a funk for awhile now resulting in me not wanting to really be in front of the camera. However, I'm trying to snap out of it and get back to posting regularly because I truly miss it.

When I went back home to Jamaica for my week trip, I managed to shot a two looks and this one is the first of the two which I love because of its clean touch and possesses a resort inspired aura. You'll probably seen me wear the top is a previous post (here), I loved it so much that I chose to style it once again with my loose fitting abstract shorts that was perfectly in black and white. I kept it simple with my  flat back sandals that I've been wear a whole lot all Summer…(definitely need to stop wearing them for awhile). I added a statement necklace since the top was a bit subtle, sadly the necklace is now completely destroyed from being crushed in my luggage on my way back to New York…so now I'm currently on the hunt for something very similar.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your week and I'll get back to posting daily very soon!

We'll Sleep Until The Sun Goes Down

Introducing a vey different colour combination that I've never really tried before. It took me awhile to get out of my usual all black combination and don't get me wrong, I still love a good all black attire. However, for the summer I'm trying to experiment with different colours (nothing too crazy) but just enough to bring somethign new to the table.

I'm obsessed with turquoise jewelry and this one that I'm wearing was bought back when I lived in Jamaica...I definitely cannot wait to go back and find some new unique handmade pieces. The belt I'm wearing is actually a vintage belt with turquoise stones embedded into golden melt...very cool concept, thank to my mother (I love raiding her closet).

Skirt- Similar
Boots- Zara
Fringe Kimono- Similar or here
Necklace- bought in Jamaica
Belt- Vintage
Hat- Similar

I still feel a little weirded out wearing a bralette top...I have no clue why, maybe because I'm not quite use to showing so much skin so that's why the kimono came in great handy to make me feel a little more comfortable. I've had this top in my closet for the longest time and was so hesitant to actually wearing outside but a fostered up the courage and paired it with the cutest floral mini skirt. What makes the Summer season so fun is the fact that you can be creative with colour combinations and step a little out of your comfort zone..for me, it was super hot on this day and my option was to either wear the outfit in this post or a very loose fitting lightweight dress (something I've been wearing almost everyday). I love that the look has such a bohemian quality and isn't too serious but a fun daytime look.

Swear My Promises To The Sky

Top- Necessary Clothing (Similar)
Shorts- Forever 21
Boots- Miista from Solestruck

Lace, lace and more lace! I think I've officially developed a lace obsession, there are so many lace pieces that are creeping up in my closet and slowly taking over....I cant help myself.
This white lace top from Necessary Clothing is pure perfection and possibly the lightest and most delicate item I own right now. When I first received it, I wasn't quite sure what I'd pair it with but now I have so many idea for the summer on how I could style it for a warm weather. For this look, I wanted to incorporate a bit of colour since there's possibly been a lack of colour on my blog for a minute..soo I wore a plaid pajama looking shorts that's light and airy with lace detailing along the hem line.
To be honest, I'm not usually the type to wear shorts like these and I use to think anyone who wears these are pretty lazy but here I am.. eating my words because I'm definitely going to be living in these shorts this Summer because they are literally the most comfortable clothing ever..shorts of my dreams! And if navy blue and red plaid wasn't enough for me, I then decided to finally debut my forest green boots with lucid heels from my favourite shoes company, Miista. For some reason, in the pictures the shoes came out looking a bit metallic which I absolutely love but the forest green in person looks really beautiful and great for both Summer and Fall. Oh, and in case you're wondering..these photos were taken on my new roof top
Let me know what you think of this look in the comments below and I hope you have a great week!

Torn In Between The Two

Coat- H&M
Shoes- Coltrane Boots by Jeffrey Campbell (Shopakira)

Lots of volume up top with a very slender silhouette on the bottom. This is the type of silhouette I love doing during the Fall/Winter, I absolutely love when I can where a very oversized jacket/coat layered over a knit sweater and then just where a slender fit pant or skirt with black stockings... I just think its a beautiful combination. I wore this look last sunday and it was such a beautiful day to just where something effortless but still very classic and chic. The distressed sweater just adds that bit of that grunge element to this whole look and is also the result of it hitching onto something that ripped it...so I just ripped the rest of it with hopes that everyone else around me won't notice I guess. It kind of makes me want to buy UNIF's hardy sweater...love the concept of distressed knit sweaters (check it out here).
