Dreamland

Skirt- Zara
Boots-UNIF

I did a quick snap of this look awhile back when it was a colder here in New York and completely forgot to share it here on the blog. The styling of this look is a bit of a preppy school girl vibe. I wanted to play with layering of different textures so I paired a classic buttoned-down shirt underneath a light weight graphic t-shirt. Might I add, this t-shirt is one of my favourites...mainly because the it presents a very dark aura but still has a light fresh vibe to it.  Not so much of a spring look however, I thought why not share it.
Hope you have a great day! I'm off to visit some galleries here in Manhattan.

Burnout Velvet

Graphic Tee- Zara
Shorts- Thrift
Burnout Velvet Kimono- Vintage

There's something about burnout velvet that makes me feel warm and fussy inside but I can't seem to quite put my finger on what it specifically. So, if you've been following my blog, from past posts I've shared a lot of combination velvet looks mainly because I'm obsessed with anything velvet so naturally,  I went into this vintage boutique here in Manhattan and instantly fell in love with this lovely black burnout velvet kimono. I feel like a piece such as this is so rare to find and the quality is amazing. This look could have easily turned into an all white look with touches of grey however, I incorporated this kimono into the mix to add texture and slight volume... plus, it was a little chilly. This look is a pretty easy going/casual attire that's great for going pretty much going anywhere except a catholic church..ha. What better way to accessorize than to wear my vintage necklace that I've own for ages now and still manage to have it in good condition after all these years...sadly I have no idea where or how I got it, but it's definitely a great statement piece.

Excuse My French

All Over Print Sun T-shit- Pray For Paris
UNIF Grail Platform- Dolls Kill
Necklace- Guess

Finally I get to debut my 'Pray For Paris' tee here on the blog...I've literally been dying to style this all over print tee since the day it arrived in the mail. "Pray for Paris" is an online UK based store that basically sells the best quality all over print t-shirts I've ever seen so far and their prints are always completely amazing with these complex digital prints that usually runs limited edition. The thing I love the most about them is how vibrant their prints are and how you're pretty much bound to stand out when wearing one of their t-shirt. They also sell beanies, bags and hats which are just as cool as their tee. I chose to style this look in these black pants with white side panels, mainly because I wanted to pull from the black and white 'PRAY FOR PARIS'  font on the t-shirt. I've been loving the look of ankle length pants for awhile now so I thought it would be cool to experiment with that aesthetic and re interpret it in my own way. Have you guys been keeping up with the shows for Fashion Week here in New York!? My favourite so far has to be Edun and Prabal Gurung! Really can't wait to see what else is in store for the rest of the Fashion Week.

Sweet Leaf

"Hangin' With My Buds Tee- Jamaica
Shorts- Forever 21
Shoes- Creepers by T.U.K
Evil Eye Stud Earring- Nasty Gal

Can we just take out the time to say how awesome this frikken tee is!? Everytime I come back home to Jamaica, I always try to get these types of clever printed tees with subliminal messages. The one I'm wearing says "Hangin' With My Buds" which basically could have two meanings. To be honest, green isn't really my favourite colour to wear at all however, I pulled out this black and green number like a Hi-bred ninja turtle hahaha. You can see my hair colour a lot better in these photos and I have to say...I'm slowly growing to love it more and more. I have a few more posts of looks I wore in Jamaica coming up this week....feeling so sad that today is actually my last day here but it was a great short trip.
