Caged Into You: The Style Alien x Michal Golan

Dress- Chicwish
Shoes- Nasty Gal
Ring- Michal Golan
Necklace- Michal Golan

So this is part 2 of my Michal Golan collaboration, to see part 1 click>> here.
This is pretty much the complete opposite of the first, with a more dark and mystery vibe going on. I've had this dress for months and loved it so much but the occasion never really came along for me to wear it so it was just stuck in my closet hiding in the back somewhere with all the rest that I once convinced myself that I'd wear someday.
I finally mustard up the courage to take this "little black dress" for a spin one Sunday afternoon for dinner at one of my favourite restaurants on the Upper East side of New York. I love that this dress is extremely loose fitting and I really don't mind that its a trapeze shaped because it's summer and who really wants to wear a dress that sticks to your skin like hot glue?...I know I don't. Possibly my favourite element to this dress is the cage like neckline that reminds me of a slightly the more detailed version of the Deandri's harnesses that I use to wear about a year ago. Since receiving the evil eye ring from Michal Golan, it hasn't really left my finger! I just love the design and you can never really go wrong with evil eye jewelry...I'd have plenty if it was up to me...In fact, I've been gushing over these ones also from Michal Golan>>Turquoise Freshwater Pearl Bracelet , Angular Evil Eye Necklace and this! Angular Evil Eye Necklace. Make sure to check them out!

Sippin On Sunshine

Chiffon Blouse- Vintage
Turtleneck Top- Forever 21
Skirt- H&M
Bag- Nasty Gal
Sunglasses-Zero UV

Oh how I missed wearing this reflector sunglasses on warm sunny days. Though the weather has been pretty much up and down here in New York, the day I wore this look was surprizingly really nice sunny day! I got so excited that I had to walk around the area and snap some pictures as well.
So for today on the blog, I'm giving a pink and black ensemble with a touch of green/blue shades. I'm not quite sure what possessed me to actually wear pink but sometimes it's good to switch things up a bit so, I kind of just went with the flow and didn't really question it too much.
This was just a pretty quick post before a head out to my classes for today, I have three more weeks left of school and I couldn't be more happy!

Let Me Live That Fantasy

Top and Skirt- H&M
Shoes- Deandri Archie Oxfords at Deandri

Today's my birthday! I'm so happy it's finally here and I'll be celebrating it with family. This outfit is an example of what I'd wear to dinner tonight... a loose fitting silhouette with the perfect faux leather jacket. The blouse in this post is literally giving me life! its so beautiful, silky, and easy to style with pretty much anything. I could see myself styling it with dark skinny pants and platforms or with some cute faux leather shorts. I also got the skirt I'm wearing around the same time I bought the top and its a simple circular skirt with these awesome evil eye motif printed all over it. I think why I love the skirt so much is mainly because of its light weight quality plus, it's easy to wear. I decided that mixing the print of the top and skirt would work perfectly because the mixing of the two isn't harsh or clashing with each other but instead, they're complimentary to one another. I wore my Deandri oxfords with the look mainly because I wanted to tone the look down a bit to make it a little more laidback and casual. Anyways, I'll post the outfit I decide to wear today for my birthday, you can keep updated on Instagram @marfarlane

Hallucinate

"Let's Get Weird" Tee- JacVanek (Karmaloop)
Velvet Midi Skirt- Vintage
Faux Leather Biker Jacket- H&M
Evil Eye Earring- Nasty Gal

I loved this Jac Vanek "Lets Get Weird" tee so much, I knew I had to style it a second time here on my blog. The first time I posted it, it was very airy and more of a summer look (here). So, because I loved it so much I thought it would be nice to style it into a more fall inspired look. In this post, I wanted to capture a biker chic look that could easily be worn as day to night transitional look depending on you it's accessorized. I got this faux leather jacket at H&M about three weeks ago while catching a peak at there new fall collection....I've been wanting a really good biker jacket for the longest time so, scoring this one from H&M was basically heaven sent...or at least to me it is haha. I chose to pair the tee with a midi length skirt to give it a little more "badass sophistication" and the fact that its it's made in velvet is perfect because it gives the whole look a great mixture of textures, giving the whole styling more depth. New York Fashion Week S/S 2014 has started! and I couldn't be more excited to see the collections, you can check them out too if you're not in New York by visiting either Style.com or Elle.com or there are lifestreams that you can watch online! Anyways, have a great weekend!

Immorality Iris

White "Amador Dress"- Nasty Gal
Shoes- Deandri White "Tequila" (Solestruck)
Evil Eye Earring- Nasty Gal

Another white on white combination! Since the first time I did an all white look (here), I've been literally dying to do another one. I named this post "Immorality Iris" because it's actually a name of a white flower that only blooms once during the spring and also in the early fall. So I thought the name was a perfect description because the Fall season is almost here so I needed to post another all white late summer inspired look. This dress from Nasty Gal is literally the most comforting dress I own in terms of it being really flowy and girly without showing too much skin, but still flirty enough to be considered sexy. Of course, I chose to pair it with my white Deandri tequila boots because it completed my whole all white styling. To tie the whole look together, I added small pops of colour in my jewelry. I'm definitely going to give a third shot at an all white look in the fall so be on the look out for that. Thanks to Jim Vuong of Dancing In My Dreams, he has such an amazing and impeccable style so go check out his Tumblr page!
