Top Summer Shoe Picks

Here on my blog I'm usually seen in very grungy 6" platform boots or just a chunky black platform boots. I count the amount of times my friends have told me that have way too many black shoes but that's just a habit I'm trying to prey myself out of slowly but surely. So since I'm constantly experimenting with my style and trying new things I thought it would be nice for me to put together a collection of top summer shoe picks that I'd definitely want to be wearing this summer and also shoes that you readers could also fall inlove with! Let's get started!!

Ankle boots have literally been my number one choice in shoes since forever. For me, they're very comfy, not too girly and easy to get around in since I'm always on my feet. I'll for sure be wearing lots of ankle boots this summer with different cute styles and colors.

The famous strappy sandal very gets old. They pair well with pretty much anything but this summer I'll be rocking this with a nice light washed ankle length denim jeans or even with nicely tailored black trouser. Either way, these type of shoes will always come in handy both for daytime and for a night out.

A very long time ago way before I started to wear chunky platform boot, ballet flats were my everything. I remember having only ballet flats in my wardrobe at one point because they were so flat and comfy. However, as I grew older I started to hate them and they didn't seem so comfortable afterwards so i stopped wearing them. Funny enough just very recently, like two weeks ago I bought a pair from Nasty Gal's shoe cult collection and ever since I got them, they've been stuck on my feet. So maybe I'll incorporate them into my style more this summer.

All the shoes shown in this post can be found on Dresssale.com. They're a great online store that really affordable and sells a wide variety of everything! so definitely go check them out.

Half-Past The Moonlight

Sweater Dress- H&M
Eyelet Cardigan- Forever 21
Faux Leather Jacket- Similar
Charcoal Panama Hat- Sole Society
Shoes- Miista (Solestruck)

I've always wanted to get a sweater that was long enough to be wore as a dress but never quite got around to finding one that wasn't too body hugging or long enough. Thankfully, H&M just opened up a flagship store in Time Square and they were having this massive sale  so I picked up a bunch of cozy sweaters that could each be wore for different occasions. I specifically love this red wine colored one because its  at a great length (little about the knee) and it's one of those sweaters that can easily be dressed up or down with the help of slight tweaking. I ended up having to wear  shorts underneath the sweater because it was a bit cold so, that sort of explains why it's a little puffy around the upper leg in this post. I also wore my eyelet cardigan to give a more casual feel to the outfit and with my biker jacket I was able to give a lot more depth to the overall look. Sweaters have literally become an essential part of my wardrobe lately because, it's cold in New York that the only thing I can wear without freezing is a nice chunky sweater. I honestly can't wait for Christmas to get here so that I can go back to Jamaica in the warmth haha.

Free Falling

Fringe Sweater- Similar
Pants- Forever 21
Boots- Mulder Platform (Karmaloop)

I've been wearing a lot of neutrals and soft tones a lot during this month but I decided to switch it up a bit and incorporate a little colour and print..what better way to do this than to wear plaid. To be honest, I'm not quite over plaid yet and I highly doubt I'll be anytime soon. What I love specifically about this plaid is that, its a bit toned down with dark blue shades contrasting against black. The sweater I'm wearing it is unbelievably warm and cozy...(maybe that explains why for some reason my hands were tucked in the sleeves in most of the pictures). The sweater really reminds me of a dream catcher and has a slight Native American quality to it, which to me is quite cool. It was pretty cold so I obviously had to layer with a blouse underneath the sweater and also wore a thick quilted jacket. I know I haven't been wearing much of my 6 inch platforms recently, but it's really because it's gotten so cold and extremely windy here in New York so I'm surprisingly keeping it safe by wearing mostly my flat boots to save me from the wind. Anywho, I'm off to a ridiculously long day of classes.

Fall Wolves

Shorts- Nasty Gal
Kimono-Forever 21
Shoes- Hyatt Boots (Edge Of Urge x Jeffrey Campbell)
Wool Hat- Bebe

Lately, I've been dipping into the fall fashion season...not sure if it's too early for that but when I wore this outfit, it surely felt like fall. For those of you who have been following my blog, you'll notice that I'm a lover of colour, platforms and a compulsive "print mixer". With that been said, I don't believe I've ever done an all black look with the mixture of prints and slight pops of colors, so I thought "why not!?". I wore a black and white sheer blouse that could be both dressed up or down and paired it with the cutest kimono that has these embroidered stitchings along the torso area...I thought it was the cutest thing ever when I saw it in forever 21 so it was basically made a compulsive buy and I can't seem to take it off. To accesorize this whole look, I wanted to keep it a little simple with a more edgy and sophisticated touch so I wore  this amazing wool hat which is actually one of my recent purchases and I don't regret it one bit! Lastly, and these amazinggg pair of oil slick iridescent boots from Edge Of Urge, which I recently recieved this week!!!! they're made in collaboration with Jeffrey Campbell & Edge Of Urge and I literally could not wait to wear them so I knew I had to wear them like the next day of receiving them. I really hope you enjoyed this look and have a great weekend!
