Pumped Up Kicks

Black Top- Vintage (Thrift)
Ombre Overall- Necessary Clothing
Shoes- Deandri Hansel Wedges

I had vow never to wear any sort of overalls ever again mainly because I don't like to follow things that are too much on trend and I'd rather come up with my own sort of "ideal look". However, I have to say I somehow have not been able to sell this beauty to the thrift store as yet because I don't think I'm ready to part ways with it and I feel like I could do so much more styling with it before I trade it in for some $$$. I think the main reason that I love this specific overall so much is because of its ombre effect of the denim blue fading into white, which makes this look have a strong summer vibe. I chose to wear a black mandarin collar top underneath, that somehow reminds me of the cute mandarin collars that Jason Wu did on his knee length dress for Fall 2012. I also wore my black Deandri hansel wedges that I absolutely adore but to give the overall look some depth, I decided that I should wear one of my distressed sheer tights, which pretty much made the outfit look like the right amount of grunge that I wanted it to be. I'm preparing to leave for Jamaica in a few days so I'm gonna try to sho as much outfits here in NY before I leave and I'll also be updating you on the everything that I wear in Jamaica. Gradient Clouds On A Summer Day

Black and White Blouse- Forever 21
Ombre Overall- REHAB Clothing
Necklace- Thrifted

I'm pretty much obsessed with this look mainly because I'm in love with the ombre effect of the overalls and it was the perfect sunny day. I wanted to play on a casual look, something that was very easy to wear and comfortable yet, dressed up enough for maybe a lunch date. I never thought I'd actually like the idea of pairing a very laid back denim overall with a more formal long sleeved blouse but, the juxtaposition between the two are ridiculously great! I could also see this overall being worn with like a white high neck cropped or a graphic muscle tee, which I'm usually always wearing. For my shoe choice, I went a little different than my usual 6 inch madness and opted for the choice of wearing flats...shocker. I thought that just wearing the flats only was too much leg skin without a purpose so, I wore the black socks which added just the right amount of leg skin and it also helped in pulling the outfit together.

The Hero In Me

Super Hero Muscle Tee- Milky Way Clothing (Necessary Clothing)
Striped Overall- No Boundaries
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane (Karmaloop)
Sunglasses- Zero UV
DIY Cloth Cuff Bracelet- From Scraps of Last Post

This is a look I wore while I was pretty much having a picnic at Central Park. It was so sunny and beautiful outside that there was no way I would stay inside my apartment. I wanted to capture that feeling of a throwback camping picture with a little bit of my spin to it. I wore this amazing muscle tee with a graphic super hero comic, I thought it was so clever and a perfect piece to mix and match. So, I went along with pairing it with a vintage striped overall which was actually way too big for me but I kinda just made it work and rolled the hem up because it was way too cool for me not to wear. I love how when I style these overall and muscle tee, that I instantly thought of this very retro sunglasses from none other than Zero UV.  It added a nice element in complimenting the outfit and tying everything together into the perfect Summer / Picnic outfit. I have so much more outfits to share this week so look out for that and thank you for visiting.

Summer In Manhattan

Blue and White Striped Top- Vintage
Teen Dream Denim Jumper- Nasty Gal
Shoes- UNIF Das Boots (Dolls Kill)
Sunglasses- Zero UV

The sun finally came out and I was so happy that it stopped raining so I decided to share a much more lighter palette than my usual dark looks. Different shades of blue has always sort of coincidentally been the colour I gravitate to most whenever I want a airy and fresh palette. I just love how well it seems to go together with different colours and it without a doubt a great palette to wear in the Summer. The top I'm wearing is actually one of my oldest tops and I have no idea how it got into my closet because I never bought it. However I've been wearing it a lot with loose high waisted shorts or with my light pink  circle skirt, which surprisingly I love the most so I'll be sure to share that look with you soon. I believe this is the first time I'm showing how I would style an overall and it's weird because I remember wearing a lot of overall growing up and now it a huge trend amongst bloggers to wear overalls with like different variations. I love how fashion is able to sort of recycle and evolve over the years. I went very "Bohemian Girl" meets "Grunge Emo Chick meets "Farm Girl who wears 6-inch heels?" hahaha, well I think that's what I love most about this look...it captures more than just one style. Hope your having a great day and thanks for visiting! Lots more looks coming this week.
