Burning Bridges Down...Set Me On Fire

Francis Dress- UNIF (Dolls Kill)
Shoes- To Be Announced (Solestruck)

Yesterday I was in Emerald green, today its all about this knitted dress in a colour rarely seen, tobacco brown. I bought this dress during the black friday sales and I'm not quite sure why I chose this colour over black but, I somehow thought seen it was such a specific and unique colour that I should just take the change with it. Completely satisfied with my decision because I'm so in love with this dress. It's super cozy and the shredded/destroyed detailing at the hemline, takes it to another level. I wore black shorts underneath since it's pretty much Winter here in New York. I'm not sure what it is about the day after a snow day because it wasn't really cold at all...just lots of snow covering everywhere, and clearly the rooftop of my apartment was also covered in snow. For shoes, I wore my current favourite shoe called Gracie by To Be Announced and I remember purchasing a pair of shoes from them earlier this year and ended up returning them like a week after because it was made so poorly, but this time they blew me after this this little number with fringe and gold detailing.

Dirty Little Secrets

Sharing a grey palette with silver accents from my jewelry

Dress- Evil Twin from Urban Outfitters
Shoes- UNIF Grail Platforms from Dolls Kill

You all are probably tired of seeing me in this color palette by now, and I will say I have  been so lazy these past few days... so anything that I can slip on quickly to rush to my classes I'm prettty much down for it and for some reason I always grab for the greyscale colors. In this post, I'm wearing this really cute dress from Evil Twin that has this slightly ragged look to it mainly because of its charcoal grey color, and the fact that it fits me like a little oversized dress. I thought of pairing this dress with a leather sleeveless vest but later on decided that it would possibly clash with the intricate texture of the dress  so, I opted for a chunky necklace to sit right on top of that rounded neckline. It was pretty winding when I wore this dress so I wore it with a thick dark stockings, which is perfect for days when it gets a little chilly and you don't want to wear pants. I finished off the look by adding some UNIF to the mix with my grail platforms that added some extra spice to the overall look. Tomorrow's my birthday and I couldn't be anymore excited for it to come, so if you want to get updates on what I'll be doing or wearing you can follow me on Instagram @marfarlane

Streets Alight

Knitted Sweater Top- Zara
Faux Leather Flared Skirt- Nasty Gal
Light Jacket- Alexander Wang
Creepers- T.U.K
Space Invasion Stockings- Dolls Kill

Fall is in full swing and all I want to do is where easy pullover sweaters or anything knitted that's warm and fuzzy. In this look, it's pretty much one of the more polished outfits I've worn all weekend...even though I'm wearing creepers. I wore this look while hang out in the meat packing district in New York this weekend and you could definitely say this outfit is a cross between grunge and a preppy school girl look. The top I'm wearing is actually one that I bought from Zara sometime last fall but somehow only got to wear it once before this and I can't understand why because it's literally the softest knit ever! I love that its in an ivory colour instead of being plain white so it gave me a lot more options in terms of accessorizing, where I could incorporate my more feminine jewelry to give a soft touch to this outfit. I paired the top with my faux leather skirt that I've been dying to pull out of closet this fall and I finally got the chance it so you're definitely going to be seeing me wearing these babies a lot more often. Of course,  the look couldn't be completed without wearing my alien space invasion stockings! that I got from the lovely Dolls Kill.

Chain Reaction

Evil Barbie Cropped Top- Dolls Kill
UNIF Grail Platforms- Dolls Kill
Braided Fringe Cardigan- Vintage

Black and white with silver accents, has practically become my uniform these past weeks. I'm not quite sure if you all are exhausted of seeing me in this combination but it's quite obvious I'm not getting over it any time soon hahaha... I just love it! I wore my evil barbie crop tee and overlayed it with a tight fitting high neck crop top to give it a different look because I didn't want to seem to repetitive with wearing just a plain tee. I paired this with my distressed mesh maxi skirt to give to more hardcore rocker appeal, with sheer stockings and knee high socks to give it more depth to the look...plus it was cold so that helped a little. Of course this look wouldn't be complete with the help of my platform babies which definitely gave it the edgy look that I was going for. It's almost the weekend and I couldn't be happier...this weekend was completely exhausting for me so I need to weekend to arrive so I can blow off some steam

If Only Time Flew Like A Dove

Flared Skirt- Express
Distressed Denim Jacket- Thrift
Shoes- Grail Platform by UNIF (Dolls Kill)
Green Cat Eye Necklace- Glow Worm Shop
Clock Necklace- Vintage

Can we just take a moment to appreciate this beauty of this fit and flare sweater skirt from Express!? Lately I've gotten into wearing a lot of white separates and thanks to whatever clicked in my brain because I'm loving the dominant addition of the white skirt and socks in this post. I'm keeping it pretty casual with this outfit with the help of a very laid back 'grunge touch' of the denim jacket. I actually snapped these photos as I was heading home from my morning classes and it was such a beautiful day here in the city with the weather being mid way between summer and fall. I wore a body hugging knitted top which was given to me a few months ago by my mother when I went back to Jamaica sometime during the summer holidays. I really love the texture and the way the thread of this knitted top are woven so intricately and precise, giving the outfit a great detailed quality. I tucked the top into the skirt because it has always been a personal aesthetic that I really love and has the power to create a more polished look to an outfit. I have lots of new things that I'm excited about coming to my blog soon so stay tuned for that! Have a great week <3

Coexist

YAY FOR DIY PROJECTS!

Steps:

Cold- Shoulder Tee- Zara + DIY
Sheer Pants- Forever 21
The Moody's Sunglasses- UNIF (Dolls Kill)
Bag- BCBG
Necklace- GlowWorm Shop

Who doesn't love DIY project!? I'm happy I finally get to share with you one of my DIY projects that is really quick and easy...all it takes it a scissors, curved edge (I used a french curve) and a sharpie or whatever thing that can make a mark. I'm always deconstructing & reconstructing my t-shirts because lets face the fact, sometimes it can get a little tiring wearing the same silhouette very often. I have a tons of all over print shirts so I'm always searching for new ways of wearing them without being too repetitive. This particular shirt is actually from Zara and believe it or not, it's from the male section of the store. Honestly, I thought that it was a pretty unisex all-over print shirt and I was so attracted to the confusing abstract print so why not? because I somehow always find myself attracted to the weirdest things in stores hahaha. I went for a more sleek and slightly bohemian inspired look which is perfect for walking around in the daytime.
