Golden Solution

Graphic T-shirt- Chicwish
Skirt- Zara
Shoes- TBA from Solestruck
Rings- Thrift

Needed to give a quick update since I haven't been able to post in so long. I thought I'd be a bit more able to get back to my regular consistently daily posts but I've still pretty much been caught up with loads of projects and sleepless nights...can't wait for it to be over. Since I've been running around so much to classes, my aim in dressing each day is "comfort". Spending countless hours working and sewing in the studio can be such a drag so I've really been leaning towards wearing print graphic tees layered on top of a buttoned down top (usually in neutral colours) and my chunky boots will always do the job of keeping me comfortable while I'm on my feet all day. I've always bee very much into statement jewelry and this beautiful ring I managed to scoop up while thrifting one day has quickly been ranked as one of my favourite rings. The green is so bold and the way the gold of the outer area sits so complimentary to the overall aesthetic of the ring.
I really can't wait to get back to posting regularly again but I'll be sure to continue updating my instagram as much as possible. Follow me @marfarlane.

Circle Of Life

The Animals Sunset Print Sweatshirt- Romwe
Velveteen Skirt- Chicwish
Radioactive Snake Bag- Nasty Gal
Shoes- UNIF Das Boots

Back at it again with one of my favourite combos...velveteen skirt, high socks, floppy hat and a nice chunky sweatshirt. I seriously am so in love with all the sweatshirts that Romwe has recently released on their website and if there was someway I could purchase them all without compromising my bank account then I'd definitely buy every single one of them! Their sweatshirts are super cozy and easy to wear but most of all, they have the most amazing prints on them that is always ridiculously beautiful. The sweatshirt I'm wearing in this post is perhaps one of my favourites from them, it reminds me so much of the 'Lion King' and the way all the color blend so seamlessly together makes it such an amazing piece. I decided to pair this with a red wine velveteen skirt, that add a bit of texture to this look and really helps make the whole look come alive. I also decided to dust off my good ol' purple floppy hat from last fall and rock that hat like nobody's business of course ha. Now that I'm looking back on it, the hat really compliments the look along with my awesome bag that I received as a gift for my birthday. Anyways, have such a long day ahead of me and midterms are killing the life out of me, but I'll be fine. Have a great week.

Symmetrical Empathy

Baroque Inspired PrintedTee- Chicwish
Tartan Skirt- Everland Clothing (Dolls Kill)
Bead Fringe Cardigan- Vintage
Shoes- T.U.K Creepers

I love when I can wear a printed tee and it suddenly breathes life into an entire look. For this outfit, I went along with my usual print mixing by combining plaid with this baroque inspired print from one of my favourite tees. I was a little skeptical at first about working the purple plaid into this look but I took the risk and I'm really happy with the way it all turned out because the yellow stripe from the plaid suddenly played a major role in tying both separate together. I think it's evident that my fringe obsession will never die...I own so many fringe items and I'm convinces that my life is so much better with fringe... hahaha. I decided to with this very "beachy/bohemian like" braid fringe cardigan because not only is it the coolest thing ever but I love how the gold beads are incorporated into the white braided detail. That to me, makes it so much more special. I later decided on wearing my creepers after contemplating my black Deandri platforms....but, I'm happy I wore the creepers because it helped in toning this look down a little.

Never Trust A Happy Song

Baroque Inspired Tee- Chicwish
Tube Dress wore as Skirt- BCBG

This is a look I wore a couple about a week ago and totally forgot I took pictures of it and I'm so glad I found it in my archives because totally I loved this look! I've always been obessessed with all-over print tees and this one from Chicwish is currently my favourite one, mainly because it's black and gold (i loveee black and gold combinations). I wanted to capture a dark, romantic, sort of soft grungesque vibe ....so I decided for a change, I'd pair the tee with something long and flowy like this beautiful dress I got from BCBG a longg time ago (the picture does it no justice). People there is still a lot of time to enter my giveaway! just go to my last post to see how you can be apart of winning a Quay Australia Eyewear sunglasses. (here).
