Search & Destroy (Style Alien x 9th & Elm)

"Handmade and Independent Fashion Designers"- 9thelm.com

The beauty about Brooklyn, is that you can find a great photography composition sitting right there waiting for you at any giving time. While waking around Williamsburg, Brooklyn one Saturday, I stumbled upon a stranded car that recently exploded. The imagine was so good that many photographers stopped by to snap a shot of it whilst I on the other hand, saw it as an opportunity to shoot this collaboration post with the online store 9th Elm.

"Free Spirit Top"- 9th & Elm
Pants- Zara
Hat- Tilly's
Necklace- Vintage

If I'd have to describe this look, it would be a merge between tom boyish girl and a bohemian lover. Every now and then, I like to put on a good pair of pants even during the Summer and these pair are my favorite that I scooped up during Zara's mid year sale that they have going on right now. They could almost pass for harlem pants but still makes for that pants that's perfect for almost any occasion depending on how its styled.

I decided that I'd pair it this time around with this awesome  sunflower crochet top that I received a few weeks ago from 9th & Elm…they're perfect! I've literally been obsessing over creams, white, lace and crochet all Summer so it may come as no surprise that I absolutely love this top. To give some contrast to the cream of the top, I added my brown panama hat which complimented the look pretty well and also shield me from the scorching sun of that Saturday.
Check out 9th & Elms for yourself, they have such a wide variety of things all at an affordable price. Plus, whats so unique about them is that most of what they sell are handmade products from independent designers! how awesome is that.
Hope you had a lovely start to your week, I have lots coming up for this week :)

Fly Like A Bird, Take To The Sky

Crochet Top- Similar
Silk Shorts- Necessary Clothing

The good thing about Summer is that I can wear very light layers and still feel at a normal temperature on a super hot day. This is a look I wore earlier on this week right before heading on into the city for a photoshoot. I really was aiming for comfort, loose layers and a feminine approach to Spring/Summer season. I know I've been posting a lot of lace pieces lately on the blog, but I honestly cant quite help myself...and I think all Summer long I'll be sporting a lot of lace. However, in this post I'm wearing this beautiful hand crochet top that I scored while walking pass Canal street here in New York. It caught me by surprize because I've never bought anything in Canal street because a lot of what's down there are fake products which I as a designer will never support. But in this instants, I saw a lot of crochet pieces in this one store and it caught my attention as far as me ended up buying it.
I could really see myself pairing this top with many things this summer but for this look, I went for a bit of a casual boho chic where I tucked in the top into this beautiful silk shorts and my oxfords which I haven't been wearing for awhile. I also switched things up a bit by wearing my currently favourite bag that can literally be worn with anything...its perfection.

She Loves Me Not

Dress- H&M
Shoes- Nasty Gal

For about a year now I've literally been searching high and low for a pure white crochet dress but everyone I found was just way out of my price range. Turns out, I finally found the perfect crochet dress right at H&M! I scored it for a really good price and my day was completely made.
I decided to keep it simple and let the beauty of the dress speak for itself so I just sticked to pairing it with one of my comfy to-go black flat shoes with black stockings.
This dress is literally one of the perfect Spring essential...I'll most likely wear it for  a classic daytime attire or for one of those days when I go out for brunch followed by a peaceful walk around the city.
I love how soft and slightly beachy this look is, which is very different from my usually grungy vibe. So far I'm enjoying my spring break...it's been really peaceful and relaxing, I'll definitely be making use of this break.
Have an amazing day.
