See It Through

A whole lot of monochromatic layers for a super cold day.

Sweater- Forever 21
Coat- Zara
Pants- Zara
Beanie- Zara

I like to have fun with my outfits and sometimes in the Winter, it's so easy to blend in with the crowd because this time of the year most people are wearing all black with a down jackets or one of those eskimo coats. Not that I find anything wrong with this but, personally for me I like to see how I can bend that trend and still be able to keep warm.

Here it looks like I'm wearing two layers up top but in reality I have a thousand layers underneath my sweater. The Heattech from Uniqlo has been doing wonders for me and I recommend it to anyone who's trying to feel as comfortable and warm as possible in the Winter.
For a fun monochromatic look, I paired my plaid coat from Zara with this similar plaid sweater and a scarf for an extra added touch.

I like to wear pants during the Winter months, so I wore these thick ones from Zara that I have to try and stop myself from wearing everyday...can't get enough of it.

Plaid Heavens

Wear Winter white with a pop of red and navy blue blue for an airy Winter attire.

Sweater- UNIF
Dress- Forever 21
Coat- Similar

So after a super long break, I've finally come back to my usual full time blogging. If you follow me on Instagram, you'd see that I have been all over the place visiting family for the holidays and also in the midst of completing a personal collection for my portfolio.
Its been hectic for sure but I definitely missed blogging. I back from the warmth of Jamaica and smacked in the middle of this crazy Winter in New York. This look is one of the first I wore thus far since being back and its a been of a clean almost all white look for the dramatics of blending in with that pure white of the snow.

I'm wearing my cozy UNIF  sweater from last season, layered on top of this beautiful lacey dress and tons of other unseen layers underneath that actually allowed me to weather this look without freezing completely to death. I added the touch of the plaid as an extra layer for warmth and also to give the look a bit of colour.

I can't wait to share a lot of Winter looks and I hope where ever in the world you are, keep warm!

Sunny Winter

Just another day in Brooklyn.

Sweater- Forever 21
Skirt- Zara

Can I first express how obsessed I am with this tribal inspired sweater! I bought it during the Black Friday sales at Forever 21 and can't stop wearing it. Surprisingly, I found it in the mens section  (I shop both male and female clothes sometimes) and just bought the smallest size that could fit me perfectly...even though its still a little big.

The quality is pretty great and its super thick and cozy even though in this post I layered it with a blouse underneath because New York's weather switches easily from being warm to cold and cold to warm. As you can see, it was a beautiful sunny day and which allowed me to wear my neoprene skirt and stockings . However, for safety of the wind and an additional layer...I wore an oversized coat which is an item I've been wearing a whole lot if you've seen from my Instagram photos.

I have a lot more looks coming up on the blog and I'm hoping I can do a video diary real soon. Have an awesome day!

Mr. Brightside

Cold enough for a coat but warm enough for a skirt. Typical New York weather.

Sweater- H&M
Wool Skirt- Necessary Clothing
Coat- Zara
Boots- UNIF

I have a slight obsession with this green sweater that I can't quite explain, but for some reason I've been wearing it extremely often since the Fall/Winter season begun. I was kind of happy I got the chance to pair it with this flared wool mini skirt because I've been so stuck on wearing pants almost everyday due to the freezing weather.
This look is typically one I'd wear for a day of classes or just a casual day around this city. One downfall to wearing a skirt on a windy day is probably the obvious Marilyn Monroe moments but I managed to not flash anyone that day so I guess it was a success.
The semester is almost over for me and I'm literally the happiest person ever, because I get to go back to Jamaica for the Christmas and will finally get some warmth.

Forget About Everything & Runway

I totally decided last minute to change my mind and post this look from a shoot I did about a month ago. I was a little hesitant in posting, mainly because there wasn't much to the overall look and the pictures were shot at a completely spontaneous moment as a slight experimental shoot.

Around 5 hours before class, my friend and I were chilling on the rooftop of my apartment and we thought it would be kind of cool to just fool around with the lighting, angles and just experimenting overall with the camera. Hence, these were the photos that resulted of that. Just me playing around..and the usual indecisiveness when it comes to deciding what to do with my hair especially since it was pretty hot when this look was shot.

I was heading into the city for my afternoon class so, a simple button up white blouse with baggy trousers was my quick go-to instinct. It's simple and easy for times when it comes to wanting to "dress down". I went slightly minimalistic when it came on to accessorizing by just where silver accents to compliment to black and white "uniform" attire. I hope you all have a great start to the week and thanks for visiting!
