Funny enough, I can't recall the last time I wore something red (possibly the only top I have in red) and somehow the day when I wore this look I felt like mixing my grudgy ways with a bohemian type of vibe and since I didn't want to wear black, I thought that red would probably be the best option. 

I bought the top on such an impulse buy one day in Manhattan and it was one of those items that I didn't think that I'd end up wearing. I paired it with this beautiful maxi skirt in this off-white tone that I've been loving a lot this Summer. I love how this look is slightly dark and can be a little on the creepy side but it has just enough airiness and lightness to make more more of a blend between bohemian and grudge. I don't wear a lot of maxi skirts however, I certainly enjoy the occasional stroll in them around the city.

Holding On To The Everlasting Waves

This is the first of the pictures I took while visiting Charlotte over the weekend  for thanksgiving. I miss it so much, so beautiful there and I definitely have a photo diary coming up later on this week of photos I snapped of the area. It was pretty sunny when I wore this look but was still very cold so wearing my this sweatshirt from Romwe definitely came in handy. I have so much love for sublime prints and I've done a few posts with other cool sublime prints, (you can see here or here ). I just can't get over how vibrant the colours of these prints are...not to mention how realistic the print seems. 

For a more flowy, carefree look, I wore a sheer pleated maxi skirt and combat boots. This combo has such a relaxed and easy going vibe which I really love and I can't wait to share more from my trip this coming week. I hope you all had a great holiday for those who celebrated.

Yesterday was a very gloomy/ misty day in New York and I decided to take a walk to  Chelsea Piers to dream....think....clear my head. I love taking little walks around the city especially to peaceful places like the park or pier. The pier was a little more quiet  than usual when I visited yesterday, because it was raining and almost everyone stayed indoors. Though it was raining, it actually wasn't that cold, so I was able to wear a shear flowy maxi skirt and a cowl neck top with lots of volume that was made by me.
For some reason, I usually never wear any of the things I make, but this top seemed so fitting for the whole look plus, it was pretty cozy so why not!?. I threw on  my favourite oversized faux leather vest for a little more layering and you can see another way how I styled it (here). I really love the play between the soft element of the maxi skirt against the grunge/bourgeois feel of the vest...it's an interesting play on volume and textures which is something I always love experimenting with. A few weeks ago, I was wearing this maxi skirt while running errands at my internship, it was really windy that day so the bottom half of the skirt kept blowing up and snagging on things and after like the tenth time of it snagging, I heard the sound of a huge rip while I was walking in the middle of the street and it made a huge hole in the back of my skirt, which made so mad. Anyways, I just put on a good poker face and kept walking like I came out of my house with a torn up skirt. After that day, I decided I wanted to just rip the rest of the skirt up and give it an effect of a tattered and distressed skirt so I literally took the scissors and started cutting up the hem of the skirt and made two more holes at the back where the big rip was. I have to say, I really! love how well it came out and I couldn't be any happier with the results. I wanted to go for kind of an cowboy/hippie/punk inspired look so I paired this hi-lo cheetah print top with my cowboy vest which I've been obsessing over for the longest time, mainly because it has fringe and the quality is spectacular. With the colour of the vest, it helped to bring out the pop of colour in the blouse for a more interesting look. For a more grunge and punk look a added these pair of funky Deandri boots which worked well in complimenting the whole ensemble.

Finally, I can post a new look on my blog! it's been killing me inside of how deprived I was these past few days when I didn't get the chance to post. I'm finally all moved into my apartment and my finals are completely over and now its summer! so what better way to start off the summer than to pair maxi skirts with everything! I love a good maxi skirt especially clever interesting ones like the one I'm wearing in this blog post. I pretty much have been wearing this skirt so often with black and white high neck crop tops, muscle tees, and loose sheer tops. I decided to share with you the way I style it with loose sheer tops, I basically tuck in the blouse into the skirt so that I can have a more cleaner look and form an illusion to make my bottom half look longer. Even though I love maxi skirts, I feel like the look can't be complete without looking elongated and since I'm like I'm short I have to just work around it and try to find ways of forming illusions. I'm back to regular posting and I have so much looks to share with you that I've been wearing so stay tuned for that.
