Take Off From The Start

Casual moments in Williamsburg is the one things I look forward to on weekends.

Fuzzy Sweater- Similar
Pants- Nasty Gal
Biker Jacket- Similar

I finally decided to take this awesome biker jacket for a stroll about two weekends ago during the leisure time I spend vintage browsing and store gazing in Williamsburg. This whole year, comfort has become a major element in my wardrobe. So, I've been wearing pieces that can easy fit with each other that doesn't quite take too much time deciding in the mornings on what to wear.
For this look I wore my warm and fuzzy top that I'm completely obsessed with because it's literally the softest thing in my closet right now. Because it's pure white it exhumes such a clean and fresh vibe hence, I went along to pair it with something a little more on the edgy side which is the plaid pants.
This ensemble is a bit more of what I usually like to wear when ever its not too freezing outside, as I am able to wear just a biker jacket and be good for the day. I kept it pretty simple for the accessories mainly because I wanted it to just be a more breathable and slightly simple look.

Mind Mischief

Black and White Scarf- Made by me
Coat- Nasty Gal
Concho Hat- Forever 21
Scully Platform- Jeffrey Campbell

On a cozy day, I like to layer  strategically that will allow me to go 'pantless' but still keep as warm as possible. Good thing the day I actually wore this look was warm enough for me to just wear stockings to be paired with my oversized sweater dress and a nice heavy wool coat from Nasty Gal.
To spark a little interest and as an additional texture, I chose to where this pretty cool black and white scarf that I made in class. The scarf is designed like a sort of shawl so it goes over the head and sits on the shoulders, which makes it easy to pull over and pair with any outift. It works more like an interest piece rather than actually keeping you warm but I think of it as a fun accessory piece.

I hope you all had an awesome thanksgiving weekend, I definitely did as I went to Atlanta to visit family and then partake in a little shopping spree but it was all fun and I'm now back in NY, ready to take one the last week of classes.

Eager Eyes

Casual days. Yes, I'm wearing jeans.

Sweater- H&M
Boots- Zara

I was a bit reluctant to post this look, mainly because it's so far fetched from my usual style and I was feeling super lazy the day I got dressed. However, I decided to just go ahead and share because I feel like everyone has one of those off days plus sometimes it feels good to dress down a little.
I believe I shared these mom jeans here on the blog once before during the Summer so, this time around I'm styling it in a more Fall attire with a bit of a bohemian/hipster inspired vibe.
This look was worn for a full day of classes and I was super comfortable all day, minus my friends pointing out that they've never seen me wear jeans before haha.

It's starting to get extra cold here in NY, and I'm definitely not happy about that because all I want to do is stay indoors. I'll be sure to post a lot more looks here on the blog but if you'd like to keep up with my collection developments you can always follow me on Instagram @marfarlane

Loud Pipes

Cant quite stay away from the grey palette.

Fuzzy Sweater- H&M
Sportswear Inspired Coat- Zara

A grey palette always seems to come in handy on days whenever I either have to rush to school or I just want to come up with something that does quite require mixing colors or prints. This look is a primary example of how I dress on days when I need to get dressed quick but still keep warm and cozy.
My weakest each Fall is wearing very chunky or oversized pieces, mainly because it gives me a sense of comfort which I love. I also went very minimal with my jewelry this time around just so I could enjoy the beauty of the multiple shades of grey.

It's been so busy these past couple weeks and it's only going to get worst from here on because the semester is almost over so I had tons of new projects working on but super excited for. Sleepless Gliding

Mixing different textures a lot this Fall.

Black & White Top- H&M
Mulder Platform - Jeffrey Campbell
Lace Cardigan- Forever 21

Since it's so cold in NY during the Fall/Winter, it's important to me to get creative if I'm going to be wearing a thousand layers a day. Hence, on any given day...you'll find me mixing and matching completely different textures as my layers and this way I don't get bored of wearing the same ol' look over and over again.
For this post, I went a tad bit crazy and mixed both prints and textures for a fun monochromatic look. The top I'm wearing is one that I absolutely adore because of the cracked effect within the print that slightly reminds me of the Balenciaga AW 13 collection. I'm not sure why I did but, I made the choice of pairing the top with black and white plaid pants which I thought at first would have been too much but experimenting to me is always a good thing, because now I absolutely love the two together.

To finish off the look I threw on my floor length lace cardigan as an addition to introduce a different texture and of course, I had to break in my oversized neoprene jacket that I purchased at the beginning of the Summer and was dying for it to be  old enough so I could start wearing it (ps. I miss the Summer now). Let me know in the comments below what you think of this look!
