Whispering Tears

Dress- Forever 21
Platform Boots- UNIF
Lace Bralette- Express

My UNIF Hellbounds have resurrected! hahaha, I remember when I just had started out blogging and all I wore were 6 in platform boots like the shoes I'm wearing in this post...and not that I've outgrown these type of shoes but my personal style has evolved so much that I'm more set on a different approach towards my style. All Summer long I've been wearing lots of peasant dresses, both short and long why? well for one, they are extremely easy to wear and super comfortable for warm days. I'm wearing this very feminine one from Forever 21 that I've literally had in my closet for months before Summer so I was really excited that I got the chance to take it for a spin. What intrigued me about this particular dress was the really low cut back, which I'm really not use to wearing. I was a little terrified and sceptic about it in the beginning but I think I've grown to be so comfortable with my body that I'm frankly not afraid of showing that much skin but I know where to cross the line.
It's one of those carefree dresses that I wore with a white lace bralette underneath just to add a touch of a different texture (I've also been obsessed with lace). I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and don't party too hard! or maybe you should....live a little.

Bad Seed

Romper- AMI Clubwear
Boots- Jeffrey Campbell (Mulder)
Hat- Similar

Super 60s vibe with a mixed element of boho chic and a tad bit of a grunge aesthetic. That's exactly how I'd describe this look haha. I believe I mention early this month that I was revamping my personal style a little because at one point I felt a little all over the place and  hated everything in my closet. Nevertheless, thanks to the people over at AMI Clubwear for sending this lovely romper covered in cute little hearts.
I'll be the first to say I actually can't stand wearing rompers/jumpsuits because most of them are always so uncomfortable for me in terms of the "wedgy" situation, so I always try to stay away from them. However, surprizingly the one I'm wearing in this post fits like a glove and it definitely comfy to wear all day! Since the romper itself was very loud and out there, I tried to tone it down a little by wearing it with a pure white cardigan for an extra feminine vibe and of course pairing my good ol' chunky Jeffrey Campbell boots and wide brim hat was essential in carrying off this look. The day I wore this outfit it was like 80 degree and such a beautiful day, so I was completely excited that I could finally hang out on my roof top with some friends. I know I've been a little inconsistent with posting (I hate having to not blog) but finals have been such a drag for me, on top of finding a new place to live. But be sure to follow me on Instagram @marfarlane  for real time update.
Have a great week!

Helena Beat

Shoes- UNIF Das Boots

Since being back in New York, I've been dressing a lot laid back and freakishly different from a usual crazy grunge or hippie inspired looks. Not sure why, I guess at times my style turns a whole 360 at random times. However, I decided to share one of the more casual and laid back looks that I've been wearing all week since being back in the big city. I don't know if you notice, but I rarely wear jeans pants...(fun fact) I actually hate them. Why? well for one, ever since I was younger they've given me crazy rashes for some strange reason so as a replacement I basically where imitations or just regular cotton pants. These that I'm wearing are are super comfy and easy to move around in, which is perfect for me because I like my clothes to be comfortable. I changed it up by wearing platforms and a mix of questionable print combinations....come on, what did you expect? you expected to see a 100% normal casual look?

Twisted Diamond Heart, I'm The Weekend Warrior

Hi-Lo Top- Forever 21
DIY Distressed Maxi Skirt
Vegan Leather Cowboy Vest- Thift
Shoes- Deandri Hansel Boots (Solestruck)
Sunglasses- Similar

A few weeks ago, I was wearing this maxi skirt while running errands at my internship, it was really windy that day so the bottom half of the skirt kept blowing up and snagging on things and after like the tenth time of it snagging, I heard the sound of a huge rip while I was walking in the middle of the street and it made a huge hole in the back of my skirt, which made so mad. Anyways, I just put on a good poker face and kept walking like I came out of my house with a torn up skirt. After that day, I decided I wanted to just rip the rest of the skirt up and give it an effect of a tattered and distressed skirt so I literally took the scissors and started cutting up the hem of the skirt and made two more holes at the back where the big rip was. I have to say, I really! love how well it came out and I couldn't be any happier with the results. I wanted to go for kind of an cowboy/hippie/punk inspired look so I paired this hi-lo cheetah print top with my cowboy vest which I've been obsessing over for the longest time, mainly because it has fringe and the quality is spectacular. With the colour of the vest, it helped to bring out the pop of colour in the blouse for a more interesting look. For a more grunge and punk look a added these pair of funky Deandri boots which worked well in complimenting the whole ensemble.
