Streets Alight

Knitted Sweater Top- Zara
Faux Leather Flared Skirt- Nasty Gal
Light Jacket- Alexander Wang
Creepers- T.U.K
Space Invasion Stockings- Dolls Kill

Fall is in full swing and all I want to do is where easy pullover sweaters or anything knitted that's warm and fuzzy. In this look, it's pretty much one of the more polished outfits I've worn all weekend...even though I'm wearing creepers. I wore this look while hang out in the meat packing district in New York this weekend and you could definitely say this outfit is a cross between grunge and a preppy school girl look. The top I'm wearing is actually one that I bought from Zara sometime last fall but somehow only got to wear it once before this and I can't understand why because it's literally the softest knit ever! I love that its in an ivory colour instead of being plain white so it gave me a lot more options in terms of accessorizing, where I could incorporate my more feminine jewelry to give a soft touch to this outfit. I paired the top with my faux leather skirt that I've been dying to pull out of closet this fall and I finally got the chance it so you're definitely going to be seeing me wearing these babies a lot more often. Of course,  the look couldn't be completed without wearing my alien space invasion stockings! that I got from the lovely Dolls Kill.

Figment Of Imagination

Distressed Denim Shorts-Nasty Gal
Shoes- Deandri Archie Oxfords (get them here)

So when I went back to Jamaica, I raided my mother's closet because a) her closet is like a homemade boutique and b) I ALWAYS find great pieces in there that I can easily mix with my own clothes/style. One of my favourites that I took from her is this very soft, romantic-esque lazer cut top in ivory white. I absolutely love lazer cut tops so when I was able to make the steal for this, I happily took the opportunity. What I like to do whenever I have to style very romantic and girly pieces, I always tend to mix this with a more hardcore grunge-esque look because I feel like it embodies my style a lot. So, I wore my cut off shorts with black sheer tights to give off the grunge element that I was aiming for. I'm getting back into the groove of being back in New York and have been checking out a lot of new spots...mostly downtown, I'll share some of those in a picture post very soon.

Stranger Than Fiction

Comic Tee- Necessary Clothing
Daisy Skirt- Forever 21
Kimono- H&M
Shoes- Creepers (Journeys)

By the time you're viewing this blog post, I'm probably long gone on my way back to Jamaica for a small vacation. I am so happy to be going back home however, I hated the packing process because I always tend to want to take everything with me. However, I got through it and I have some new things coming to my blog for the next week as I'll be shooting some cool looks back in Jamaica. Anyways, this outfit I'm wearing is actually a recent look I wore in New York, which is a very laid back grungy comic nerd inspired. I chose to pair my Forever 21 black and white A-line daisy skirt with a cool tee because I just really love how the comic strip on the tee pops against the print of the skirt. As usual, I went to my go to shoes as a means of comfort and It so happens to go pretty well with the whole outfit. I hope you all have  wonderful weekend and I'll be sure to keep you updated as much as I can.

Flower Bomb

White Floral Dress- Forever 21
Sheer Floral Top- Vintage
Shoes- Coltrane Boots (Karmaloop)
DIY Choker

I'm not quite sure what was going on in my mind when I styled this outfit but all I know is that I wanted to be covered in florals and be girly for the day. I wore this baby doll white floral print dress once before on the blog but I remember styling it a little "soft grunge"/bohemian like (here). This time around I made the dress look a little for free spirit and layered it with another floral print top but I made sure that the top was sheer so that you could see the print of the dress peak through the top.  As you can already probably tell, I love to mix and match prints and I've kind of been doing this type a styling a lot more often. I guess there is something about the summer that brings out all the crazy in me hahaha. I hope your week is going great so far and please remember there is still time to enter my giveway>>>here

Never Trust A Happy Song

Baroque Inspired Tee- Chicwish
Tube Dress wore as Skirt- BCBG

This is a look I wore a couple about a week ago and totally forgot I took pictures of it and I'm so glad I found it in my archives because totally I loved this look! I've always been obessessed with all-over print tees and this one from Chicwish is currently my favourite one, mainly because it's black and gold (i loveee black and gold combinations). I wanted to capture a dark, romantic, sort of soft grungesque vibe ....so I decided for a change, I'd pair the tee with something long and flowy like this beautiful dress I got from BCBG a longg time ago (the picture does it no justice). People there is still a lot of time to enter my giveaway! just go to my last post to see how you can be apart of winning a Quay Australia Eyewear sunglasses. (here).

Wave Through The Daylight

Patchwork Shirt- Thrift
Shoes- "Zoe" by Miista from Solestruck
Sunglasses- ZeroUV

I know your probably thinking where is my pants, but I've always wanted to do a look that gave an illusion as if I had no pants on, especially for hot summer days. So, when I found this colorful/beautiful patchwork large button-up shirt at a thrift store three weeks ago and I knew exactly how I was gonna style it. I wore a skin tone short shorts underneath the shirt, which totally did the trick of a pants less look and I really like how the shirt ended up kind of looking like a mini shirt dress. Can we just skip to the part where I say I LOVEE MY SHOESSS hahaha. I got them in the mail two days ago, along with some other goodies that I can't wait to share. It was made by a Spain brand called "Miista" and once I opended the package, I couldn't help but try to work these shoes into the styling of this outfit. It looks like beautiful "holographic rainbow" in the sun, which makes them at top on my list of best summer shoes it wear and they're super comfy. Tomorrow is my 100th blog post! can't believe it...so I'll be hosting a giveaway so please come and be apart of it!

On Melancholy Hill

Floral Top- Vintage
Long Sleeved Black Top- Forever21
Body Chain- Similar
Shoes- T.U.K Creepers (Journeys)

As you may notice, I've been doing this print clashing more often than usual recently and it's really because I just love the idea of mixing prints that weren't necessarily meant to be put together. Here I wore one of my oldest floral print tops and layered a mini skirt underneath to give the effect as if I'm wearing a dress and I was just gonna go with that and a kimono but, I thought that would be a little too boring and simple so I decided to throw on my cheetah print black top. I love how the cheetah print of the black top frames to front section of the whole outfit and that the look seemed effortless. For accessories, I tied together the whole look by wearing this body chain that I bought about two/three years ago when I was living in Jamaica...I don't know why I had stopped wearing it but now that I've rediscovered it's beauty, I'm definitely going to incorporate it into my outfits more. Leave a comment below and let me know if you like the idea of clash prints or not...I love feedback.
