Inside In The Outside

The weather in NYC is finally cold so a lot of my coats are coming out of hiding.

Ribbed Sweater- Zara
Coat- Zara
Velvet Skirt- Chicwish
Rings- Vintage

Waking up in the mornings and trying to decide what to wear when the weather is changing isn't quite an easy task for me. However, I usually try not to overthink it and simply just combine pieces that are strong enough to make an interesting statement with the aim of looking effortless (even though it may have taken hours to find something to wear).
Yes, I'm almost always wearing grey and/or black but, that's mainly because I sometimes get too lazy to think of color especially when I've been working in the studio all night. For this look, I wanted to keep it clean and straightforward with this awesome coat in black, white and grey plaid from Zara. I remember purchasing it last last Fall, I wore it so much and never got tired of it so I may just be wearing it a lot this second time around.

For my base look, I wore a cropped grey sweater with my favourite skater skirt in velvet for a quick and easy Fall attire tied in with a simple touch of jewelry.
Expect a lot of new looks on the blog, a possible face lift on the site and I'll be hosting an awesome giveaway very soon! I wish you all a wonderful Monday and thanks for visiting :)

Furthest Thing

Wearing Neutrals on a winding day here in New York.

Pin Stripe Blouse- Forever 21
White Sweater Top- H&M
Skater Skirt- Necessary Clothing
Sunglasses-Zero UV

This Fall, most of what I've been wearing is neutral colors because of how easy and flexible it can be when it comes to getting dressed in the mornings. It's gotten so embedded in me that now, its become an instinct for me to just reach for something neutral in my closet and not even give it a second thought.

For this look, I wore a heavy weight skater skirt, which is perfect for the fall because it still keeps you warm since its made out of wool. I decided to pair it with a cotton sweater top, layered with a sheer pinned striped blouse. I styled this sheer blouse as a cardigan by leaving it open as I wanted to not only add that extra layer to the look but also I feel as if the pinned stripes adds an extra bit of interest to an otherwise blank palette of white and grey.

Anyways, I just got back from a short trip to Las Vegas, and it was incredibly awesome and the best time I ever had in a very long time…I got to be with my sisters and took a small break from my New York lifestyle which was a breath of fresh air for me. Play With Magic

Experiementing with a slightly different look than I'm use to.

Top- Zara
Trench Coat- H&M
Trousers- Zara
Boots- Jeffrey Campbell

A peak of sun in the city of New York so I brought out some light fall pieces to wear. I wore this look over the weekend, first to work then to run some errands around the city. I must say, this is a very polished way of being comfortable and still a bit on the edgy said. I'm not quite a huge cropped top fan however, the one I'm wearing became an exception when I saw it hanging in the store...it's made with a neoprene fabric but has the aesthetic and look of a normal cotton top and can easily be paired with anything. Though it was a bit sunny, it was still a very cool breezy weather so I wore this amazing off-white trench coat that was perfect for keeping me warm. Can we just pause to say this trench coat is heavenly? Cant't believe I scooped it up at H&M. I love that its very light and airy, it has such a clean and classic look to it that I'm very much in love with so I'll probably be seen wearing it a lot more. In these recent months, comfortability has kind of been the number one driving force in my style and thats really because I've been so busy running around to school and work so as long as I can feel easy breezy in what I'm wearing I'm a happy lady :)

Sweet Escape

Top, Trousers and Beanie- Zara
Acid Wash Denim Jacket- Thrift
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell (Edge Of Urge)

This post basically shows how much of a clue I don't have when it comes figuring out what to do with my hair. It's either I let it all out with a hat/beanie or I'll have it in a big mess top bun. For this look, I actually started out with wearing this beautiful light grey beanie, but it was extremely windy when I took these photos and the beanie wouldn't stay on my head no matter how much I tried. I'm not quite the person who usually wear body hugging tops because I tend to prefer my top be loose and free on my body. However, I have to say as of lately I've been splurging in Zara knitted tops a whole lot because they're literally the most comfortable thing to wear for this fall/winter season and if you're neutral coloured tops they are the perfect place to get it from.
Since I wore a body hugging top, it's only fair that I brought some type of balance to the overall look by wearing a a slightly baggy tailored trouser. I then threw on my oversized denim jacket to give a little depth and of course keep me warm. This is the kind of outfit that's perfect for days when you don't want to dress up too much but still want to be well dressed and presentable.

Neutral

Top- Vintage
Mini Tunic/Dress- Forever 21
Shoes- Melissa

This shoes are perfection! I just wanted to share a quick post of a look I wore a few days ago while grabing brunch with some friends. I went for a very pulled together, slightly preppy look with minimal jewelry and neutral colours. The black and white tunic I'm wearing is a piece that I use to incorporate in my daily styling very often when I just started my blog but I gave a long break and so many months later it resurface in my closet and I knew I had to take one last shot at sharing another way I've style it, before I put it back into retirement hahaha. I paired this little number with a sheer long sleeved collared top and a cool round silver necklace that fit perfectly under the collar of the blouse. Since this entire look was very simple with clean lines I decided to also wear shoes that were not too extreme. I was actually given these lovely pair of Melissa shoes by a good friend of mine and even though I got them in the summer, I thought that it would really make a good fall shoes instead. It's suade with the cutest heel ever and kind of reminds me of a more classic version of the Jeffrey Campbell 99 ties. Today is the beginning of my birthday month and I really couldn't be more excited that September is finally over!
