Sweet Escape

Top, Trousers and Beanie- Zara
Acid Wash Denim Jacket- Thrift
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell (Edge Of Urge)

This post basically shows how much of a clue I don't have when it comes figuring out what to do with my hair. It's either I let it all out with a hat/beanie or I'll have it in a big mess top bun. For this look, I actually started out with wearing this beautiful light grey beanie, but it was extremely windy when I took these photos and the beanie wouldn't stay on my head no matter how much I tried. I'm not quite the person who usually wear body hugging tops because I tend to prefer my top be loose and free on my body. However, I have to say as of lately I've been splurging in Zara knitted tops a whole lot because they're literally the most comfortable thing to wear for this fall/winter season and if you're neutral coloured tops they are the perfect place to get it from.
Since I wore a body hugging top, it's only fair that I brought some type of balance to the overall look by wearing a a slightly baggy tailored trouser. I then threw on my oversized denim jacket to give a little depth and of course keep me warm. This is the kind of outfit that's perfect for days when you don't want to dress up too much but still want to be well dressed and presentable.

Omen

Image below is legitimately my inspiration for this post, it's from the 70's horror film called "The Omen"

Acid Wash Oversized Denim Jacket- Thrift

I know what you're think... why am I in a graveyard and why is this post named after a creepy movie? Well, let's just say inspiration comes to me in very strange places. I've been using a lot of my feel time doing research, visiting galleries and site seeing around New York and funny enough, I've bucked up on a lot of interesting places that I didn't know the even existed here. The images above were taken at a historic cemetery in downtown NY. Fun fact about me is that I actually love horror movies...anything that makes me paranoid after watching it is basically perfection to me, ha. So to recreate a classic image from the movie, I chose to also go with an all black look but with hints of subtle colours here and there.

Into The Blue

Top- Vintage
Oversized Denim Jacket- Thrift
Shorts- Nasty Gal
Kitti Shades- Zero UV
Necklace- Vintage

Recently, I recognize that I've been wearing a lot! of blue ensembles and I promise it really isn't intentional and is purely just coincidence...I guess blue is the new black? hahaha anyways, this is actually one of my most recent looks that I wore a few days ago and I really love the sort of play between an oversized jacket and a high waisted shorts. It really gives the look a really nice asymmetry especially with the layering of my chained top underneath this sheer vintage blue top. I also decided to wear my new kitti shades from Zero UV and I absolutely love them! My last cat-eye shades got broken and so these new ones are a really great replacement. I'll try to wear a little less blue tones from now on so I don't kill you will blue boredom, although I'm really loving the blue on blu combinations for summer.

Weapon Of Choice

Sheer Floral Top-
Teen Dream Denim Jumper- Nasty Gal
Oversized Acid Wash Denim Jacket- Thrift
Shoes- Jeffrey Campbell Coltrane (Karmaloop)

I swore off from ever wearing any sort of overall ever again because it's not very comfortable to wear to me and it's also this huge trend right now which kind of makes me a litttle sick of seeing them however,  I have to say, the only pair of overall that I haven't sold to the thrift store yet is this really nice denim overall skirt which I absolutely adore! To break up the spaces of the blue of the overall, I added a dark skinny belt at the waist. Also, I decided to take a shot at a "denim on denim" look by wearing my new favourite acid washed jacket, which played as a contrasting shades of denim, complements the shade of the overall...I'm so happy it didnt come out looking like one huge clash of "denim in the circus" hahaha.  I chose to add a bright pop of red print against the shades of blue to lighten up the look a little and to give a more day time casual feel to the whole look.

Smells Like Teen Spirit

Top- FCUK
Dark Acid Skater Skirt- Nasty Gal
Oversized Acid Wash Denim Jacket- Thrift
Shoes- T.U.K Creepers (Journeys)

You all know how much I love my 90s grunge looks and even though my two previous posts were two different kind of styles , it just shows how mixed up and diverse my style can be. In this post, I'm wearing one of my newest thrift finds, which I can't seem to take off! This acid light washed denim jacket is my new found love and it's literally one of the most comfortable jackets I've ever owned. There is just something so special and cool about oversized jackets that you can just drown into but still look very cool and effortless. I also wore very loose fitting clothes with this jacket because during the summer, I don't like to feel my clothes sticking onto my body, so its either a loose graphic tee and shorts , a sheer light-weight top with a skater skirt or lightweight summer dresses here and there. For this look, I went with this really cool top from French Connection UK that I've had for sometime now but wasn't sure what I'd want to style it with because it's one of those tops that can be transitioned from day to night depending on what you choose to wear it with. The bead work that went into this top is amazing and really intricately placed and I think that's what attracted me the most to it. For some contrast I decided to add another acid wash tone into the outfit combination through my skirt but, I opted for a more darker tone so that the denim jacket could make the rest of the outfit pop.
