Dreamer Girl: The Style Alien x Michal Golan

Necklace- Michal Golan
Dress- Forever 21

Michal Golan is a New York based handmade jewelry company whose aim is to produce unique and consciously made jewelry. If you've been following my blog, you'll know that I'm a huge jewelry fanatic but what drew my attention to this company so much is their middle eastern colours and the level of attention to detail put into creating these jewelry are beyond. They're made with mostly with semiprecious stones, glass beads and Swarovski crystal, and is the type of jewelry that can pretty much be worn with anything whether dressed up or down. The necklace I'm wearing for this look is from one of my favourite collections from them called "Metallika". Each of the pieces in this collection are literally breathtaking!, inspired by Medieval and Victorian jewelry.

In continuing my quest to be a bit more feminine for this season, I chose to style my necklace with a off-white maxi lace dress that I can't seem to get over. When I saw this dress in Forever 21, I kind of had to do a double take because it's so beautiful! I'm not usually the type to wear maxi dresses mainly because I don't think I'm tall enough to hinder the dress from dragging on the floor...in which case I could just wear heels but I prefer maxi dresses wore simplistic with flats. I have tones of looks coming up later this week so hopefully in between packing out in my new apartment I can get a chance to post it on here. Have a great day!

Unrequited Love

Casual Fridays.

Peasant Top- Vintage
Lace Blouse- Express
Boots- Coltrane by Jeffrey Campbell
Necklace- Nasty Gal

It's funny how I've been finding all these lost treasure in my closet since packing everything up to move out of my current apartment, for example this vintage peasant top that I've had for so long but somehow reappeared one day. I love tops like these because there is something so delicate and feminine about it that makes it so perfect for experimenting with. I could see myself dressing up this top for maybe a date, dinner or a night out with friends likewise, it's that piece that can easily transition into a daytime look.

Since I've been so obsessed with wearing lace lately, I thought that wearing this buttoned up lace top from Express as like a short sleeve cardigan would add so much more depth and detail to this look and it light enough for a hot summer's day...definitely going to be wearing this black lace top a lot this summer. I kept it pretty casual with my favourite pair of chunky boots and ankled length pants because I somehow always pull for boots when all else fails!

Safe Haven

Top- Express
Skirt- Zara
Necklace- Vintage

About a few weeks ago I wore this feminine inspired look to hang out with a good friend of mine and this top was perfect for the occasion mainly because it was so sunny and beautiful outside and wearing something so lightweight and delicate seemed just about fitting for me. Thanks to a sale at Express, I was able to score this crochet tank top that has the most beautiful embroidery detail to it. To go with the overall look, I wore jewelry pieces that could accent the whole feminine idea I have going on.
Today's my first official day of Summer and I couldn't be more excited to explore New York like never before plus I'll be moving in a few days so I'm interested to see where my new shooting spots will be. Have a great day!

Sippin On Sunshine

Chiffon Blouse- Vintage
Turtleneck Top- Forever 21
Skirt- H&M
Bag- Nasty Gal
Sunglasses-Zero UV

Oh how I missed wearing this reflector sunglasses on warm sunny days. Though the weather has been pretty much up and down here in New York, the day I wore this look was surprizingly really nice sunny day! I got so excited that I had to walk around the area and snap some pictures as well.
So for today on the blog, I'm giving a pink and black ensemble with a touch of green/blue shades. I'm not quite sure what possessed me to actually wear pink but sometimes it's good to switch things up a bit so, I kind of just went with the flow and didn't really question it too much.
This was just a pretty quick post before a head out to my classes for today, I have three more weeks left of school and I couldn't be more happy!

Cat-eye Sunglasses- Zero UV

Keeping it cool in basic pieces to put together a good "almost all black" Spring look. The day I wore this outfit was probably a worse day for me to wear a mini skirt because it was so windy and as much as I was able to keep my composure during shooting, my skirt was flying everywhere! hahaha. Anyways, I sacrificed it all for this look where I wore mainly black pieces and paired them with some pops of colour here and there to stray slightly away from a early fall look to a more spring inspired look for those like me who still like to wear dark colours for every season. I think my favourite this of this entire look would really have to be this beautiful faux snake skin bag that I've been wearing non stop ever since I bought it from Nasty Gal about two months ago. Sadly it's now sold out but you can still check out the other great bags they have on their site.
I think I mentioned before that my style is highly influenced by the music I listen to in the mornings when getting dressed and for this post I dedicated it to one my favourite EP of all time by Cashmere Cat. I'm so in love with the all the tracks and could literally listen them forever! Check it out below and let me know what you think and you could also recommend me any songs that you like. Thanks for visiting, have a great day.

Spring Love

Dress- Forever 21
Bag- Nasty Gal
Sandals- Nasty Gal

Showing a much softer and feminine side on me for the first post of the week. Lately, I've been really into wearing off-white and a more softer palette since this Spring season start. I love this look because it's a very elegant look but still casual enough for a perfect transition from day to night time. I scooped this dress up a few weeks back while browsing through Forever 21 and I really didn't think I'd find anything in there because majority their clothes have been pure florals which I know my closet didn't need anymore of. I though the little lace details that were added to this dress just made it sheer perfection because it was just the right amount of lace otherwise, it would have probably end up looking cheap. Since it was a bit breezy that day, I paired a simple white cardigan over the dress which made a great compliment to the off white of the dress.
I have lots more great Spring/Summer inspired looks coming up later this week and I'm pretty excited to share them here!
I hope you all had a wonderful Easter/spring break, mine was mainly filled with catching up on class assignments with a tad bit of fun time. Have an amazing day

Hideaway

Cute florals on a spring day.

Dress- Forever 21
Vest- Similar or here

I have such a love and hate relationship with wearing florals. At times I think they can get a bit cheesy and look more like a bad wallpaper print and on the other hand, there are times when I think florals are the best thing especially during the Spring season.
I think I surprized myself when I even decided to wear this blue and white floral dress because I really don't consider myself to be the girly type and to wear a dress such as this one but I actually like it. With the right amount of jewelry and a mens inspired tailored black vest, I was able to pull off this look without really compromising my aesthetic. I think the addition of the vest really made this look less "girly" and added a more chic/classy touch.
I shot these looks in my apartment just before I left to go meet up for  lunch with an old friend from Jamaica. I know this post is a little different from my usual head to toe outfit post but it's good to change things up a bit...I hope you liked it, let me know what you think in the comments down below.
