Caged Into You: The Style Alien x Michal Golan

Dress- Chicwish
Shoes- Nasty Gal
Ring- Michal Golan
Necklace- Michal Golan

So this is part 2 of my Michal Golan collaboration, to see part 1 click>> here
This is pretty much the complete opposite of the first, with a more dark and mystery vibe going on. I've had this dress for months and loved it so much but the occasion never really came along for me to wear it so it was just stuck in my closet hiding in the back somewhere with all the rest that I once convinced myself that I'd wear someday.
I finally mustard up the courage to take this "little black dress" for a spin one Sunday afternoon for dinner at one of my favourite restaurants on the Upper East side of New York. I love that this dress is extremely loose fitting and I really don't mind that its a trapeze shaped because it's summer and who really wants to wear a dress that sticks to your skin like hot glue?...I know I don't. Possibly my favourite element to this dress is the cage like neckline that reminds me of a slightly the more detailed version of the Deandri's harnesses that I use to wear about a year ago. Since receiving the evil eye ring from Michal Golan, it hasn't really left my finger! I just love the design and you can never really go wrong with evil eye jewelry...I'd have plenty if it was up to me...In fact, I've been gushing over these ones also from Michal Golan>>Turquoise Freshwater Pearl Bracelet , Angular Evil Eye Necklace and this! Angular Evil Eye Necklace. Make sure to check them out!

Dreamer Girl: The Style Alien x Michal Golan

Necklace- Michal Golan
Dress- Forever 21

Michal Golan is a New York based handmade jewelry company whose aim is to produce unique and consciously made jewelry. If you've been following my blog, you'll know that I'm a huge jewelry fanatic but what drew my attention to this company so much is their middle eastern colours and the level of attention to detail put into creating these jewelry are beyond. They're made with mostly with semiprecious stones, glass beads and Swarovski crystal, and is the type of jewelry that can pretty much be worn with anything whether dressed up or down. The necklace I'm wearing for this look is from one of my favourite collections from them called "Metallika". Each of the pieces in this collection are literally breathtaking!, inspired by Medieval and Victorian jewelry.

In continuing my quest to be a bit more feminine for this season, I chose to style my necklace with a off-white maxi lace dress that I can't seem to get over. When I saw this dress in Forever 21, I kind of had to do a double take because it's so beautiful! I'm not usually the type to wear maxi dresses mainly because I don't think I'm tall enough to hinder the dress from dragging on the floor...in which case I could just wear heels but I prefer maxi dresses wore simplistic with flats. I have tones of looks coming up later this week so hopefully in between packing out in my new apartment I can get a chance to post it on here. Have a great day!

Broken Bells

Casual spring day.

Sweater- H&M
Skirt- AMI Clubwear
Scarf- Vintage
Shoes- UNIF Holy Grail
Evil Eye Ring- Michal Golan

What I love most about spring is that, you can mix both warm and cool colours and it'll still portray a great look. Since the Spring season started, I've been trying my best to stay away from all black looks...mainly because we had such a long and miserable Winter here in New York and all I wore then was all black from head-to-toe. So, incorporating for colours for this season shall be my main aim.
For this look, I kept it pretty casual in a lightweight pull over sweater by H&M. I don't typically like wearing too much florals but the great thing about the florals on this sweater is that its not really overbearing and the placement hits in just the right spots. Since this look could have quickly turned into and black and white combo, I added a bold element of surprise by wearing this lovely vintage scarf that I've had since forever. Right now I'm in the middle of packing all my things in boxes and it's so funny how I found so many things in my closet that I thought I had lost forever. This scarf happens to be one that I thought I had lost...well, it reapppeared one day and I knew I had to incorporate it in my look somehow before it turned into Summer and got too hot to wear.
For accessories, I decided to go with a bold statement necklace, possibly one of my favourite necklace of all time...mainly because there is so much history and a whole backstory on how I even got the necklace in the first place (good time in Jamaica). I'm also wearing one of my newest edition to my jewelry family, Michal Golan's evil eye pendant ring. I'll give more details on the brand on a post coming up later on this week so stay tuned for that.
